How can we transform cultural diversity into valuable resources at home?
Accept diversity in the classroom, majorities will always sit together, how can we change that?
Make the children realise diversity, how can this happen?
Activities:
- Questionaries: Find out what you have in common with the others in the class, you can something in common with everyone in your class.
- Make posters about yourself, so that others can see who you are, if you have something in common with the person you put a sticker on the poster.
- Lifestyle information
- Cook food from the motherland
- International evening
- The "me" bag, three things that are special to you
We watch the movie New Boy... The dilemma is that the boy is from another country and is starting in a new class, somewhere completly different than what he's used to.
What does this have to do with diversity?
-The whole class is already divers, so the problem might not be the new boy, but the class

What could the teacher have done to help him become a part of the group?

Movie about an international school:
It's a open door school,so parents are welcome to come and look at what the children are doing.
They are teaching the children in thier native language and english.
All nationalities are shown at the school, with pictures and writing.
It gives the parents a chance to learn the language with their children.
It was really nice to see how the school worked and how involved the parents were in their childrens school work. I could imagine it would be diffecult to do here in Denmark, since not that many parents have time to come to the school. And the sum of stay-at-home moms aren't that big. But it would be great to work on having a open school, so that the parents that might be interested could see what was going on in the school.
